Harriet's dream is to someday open up a shop of her own selling
refashioned gowns to working women who don't have a lot to spend.
But thanks to a difficult customer she loses her much need job at the
millinery shop. She had a hard life as it was, and now without her job
it may get ever worse.
The rich and well know Oliver Addleshaw is
on the verge of making a big business deal. But after seeing the true
personality of his not-quite-fiance, he suddenly finds himself in need
of someone else to help him make a good impression on his new business
partner. So he came up with a plan to hire the poor shop girl, who lost
her job because of his not-quite-fiance's actions. But even though he
may think it is a great plan, Harriet is not so sure about it. But when a
threat from the past returns, much more could be in danger than just
losing a good business deal.
This book had my interest from the beginning! I enjoyed it even more than the last book I read by this author. The characters were well done and the plot was great. I really enjoyed all the surprising twists and turns in the book! And I don't think I ever would have guessed how it would all turn out! The two main characters balanced each other out very nicely through the story. And the supporting characters were also great, I was actually hoping there would be more books about the supporting characters as well. So when I found out this was a series and there will be more books I was thrilled! So now I can not wait for the next book to come out. This one was a really enjoyable book and I highly recommend it!
I received this book free from Bethany House for my honest review. The opinions are my own.
