Freedom's Light by Colleen Coble

Tuesday, November 20, 2018

Hannah Thomas thinks she has escaped Galen Wright’s evil intentions when she married an older lighthouse keeper. But even in faraway Massachusetts, her world is thrown upside-down when John is killed in a battle during the Revolutionary War. Hannah is allowed to continue the hard job of running the twin lighthouses in John’s place. But disapproval from John’s family is all she seems to get. She thinks her loneliness will subside when her younger sister arrives, but she finds her sisters obsession with Galen only makes the danger around her grow. And when a stormy night brings a shipwrecked Tory sea captain to Hannah’s door things may become even more uncertain.

I was so excited when I found out Colleen Coble's  newest book had a historical setting. I love Colleen Coble's books no matter what time period they are in, but her historical stories are among my top favorites. And this book did not disappoint me! The characters and setting were wonderfully done, and the story felt like it had a real depth to it. The plot kept me turning the pages. And the book was hard to put down... Which is probably why I had almost the whole book finished in one day! So needless to say it was a wonderful book that I highly recommend.
