Rebellious Heart by Jody Hedlund

Susanna Smith was a well to do young woman in Massachusetts in 1763, she had a love for learning and a quick tongue. But even though she loved learning, she was not allowed to get a higher education like her Brother just because she was a girl. But that did not stop her from learning and reading all she could.
Although when she finds a run away indentured servant who's life is threatened, she must decide between helping the person or following the law. Susanna needed help, and as unlikely as it was, Benjamin Ross became her advisor.
He was a poor country lawyer who helped people even if everyone else thought they were guilty. He was taken by Susanna, but her parents refused to see him as a suitor for her. But as Susanna got closer to him she found herself in a dangerous and secret world of rebellion and revolution against what she once believed.
Let me just start by saying this was a great book! It had Mystery and surprises I don't think I would have guessed were coming! The characters were well done and the story was great. It was a exciting book that kept me guessing until the end! I think that Jody Hedlund did a really good job writing this story! If you like historical fiction you should definitely check out this book! I  highly recommend it!

I received this book free from Bethany House for my honest review. The opinions are my own.
