I can not believe it is already fall! I hope you all are having a wonderful time with the crisp mornings and autumn colors.
This year we had some amazing frost flowers again around here again! A frost flower is formed when thin layers of ice are extruded from long-stemmed plants around this time of year. And when you look closely they look like layer, upon layer, of thin glass like ice, gently curved into elegant shapes. But they are quick to disappear was the sun comes up, so it is fun to find them while they are here.
It is hard to believe the end summer is almost here already. This can be such a beautiful time of year. With days that are still warm, but a bit cooler than before. Flowers putting on a final show of blossoms, and wildlife getting ready for autumn. Here are some pictures I took while I was outside early this morning.
The daisies that grow wild around this area are so beautiful this time of year!
We have had some beautiful blooms this year around here. From orchids indoors, to the flower gardens outside, there were a lot of great flowers to enjoy. Here are just a few pictures of them. And yes, some of them may be made of crochet thread... But that should still count.
What could be as lovely as red clover with raindrops?
Sometimes these frosty mornings have beautiful surprises just waiting to be found. Like these frost flowers I seen on 11-13-21.
This spring one of my orchids gave me a beautiful display of blossoms to enjoy. It is so exciting to watch the whole process of the flower spike starting to grow, the buds developing, and the buds opening one at a time until you have an amazing cascade of flowers!
Back on 3-30-21 we went to a southern Missouri conservation area. And what a beautiful time of year to be there! Things were starting to get green, flowers where in bloom, and we seen fish swimming in the clear water of the creek. There was also a different area there that had a dry creek bed that was also full of places to explore. The bank of the dry creek bed happened to be where the flowers in the first picture were found.
What could be more beautiful than fresh spring flowers? I took these pictures today while I was out in my garden. It it so much more fun to work outside with things like this up and blooming!
Even with all of the problems we have been having because of the recent cold snap, there are still some beautiful moments just waiting to be found.
