A Shining Light

Andrea has not had the easiest life, but is it about to get harder or will something good finally work out. When Andrea Wilson is told her Husband had died at sea, she decides she and her son will move back to her Fathers farm in Iowa. But she finds out to late that the family farm house had burned down and her Father has died. Having no where else she could go she accepts the kind offer to stay a awhile in the West Amana village that is near by

She finds she and her son are very content in the Amana Colony, and the people there are very kind and generously helped when she needed it the most. Especially Dirk the tinsmith, who likes her son and takes him under his wing. But when something shocking happens it turns her world upside down again, and makes the future very unsure.

I have read one of the other books in this series before, but I think this one is even better then the last one I read! The characters and the scenes were very nicely done. And even though I normally do not really like books that come from a first person point of view, I loved how this book was done that way! And I also love how even if you have no idea what the Amana Colony is this book explains it really nicely. So you can get a look in to what their world was like in the late 1800's. It was a wonderful book and I highly recommend it!

I received this book free from Bethany House for my honest review. The opinions are my own.
