A Woodland Miracle by Ruth Reid

Grace Wagler has had a hard time from the beginning. She was born with one leg shorter than the other and she has muscle weakness. But she never lets any of that stop her. She still works just as hard, if not harder, than any of the women in their small northern Michigan district. But in a place where the women out number the men 3 to 1 it is unlikely she will ever get married. But after dealing all these years with the physical hardships, and now a broken heart too, she wants to go with her Aunt to see a specialist in Ohio.

Ben Eicher enjoyed living in Pinecraft Florida near the ocean. But after getting caught in some trouble once again his father sends him to work in the lumber camp in Michigan. Ben is not proud of his past behavior, but he is not happy about being sent to live in Michigan either

In the beginning of the book I did not really like Grace. I had a hard time understanding way she was acting the way she was. And I started losing hope in it being a good book. But did it ever surprise me! As the book went on the story got better and better! Plus the settings were very well described. I really enjoyed the book, and I was surprised how the turn of events in the story happened! This turned out to be a great book, although you might want to start with the first book in the series before beginning this one.

I received this book free from the publisher, Thomas Nelson, through the BookLook Bloggers book review program. The opinions are my own.
