Shetland Sheep Rooing

Monday, May 4, 2015

I always find it amazing how different our sheep look after we remove their wool coats. But thankfully because they are Shetlands we do not need to clip their wool like normal sheep breeds. The Shetland sheep grow wonderful wool and we are able to just "pull the wool off" every spring by hand rooing them!
This spring I had to get a before and after photo of the Shetland sheep around rooing time! As you can see the sheep on the far right was the only one done with rooing at the time the picture was taken.
