Camille Iverness has spent most of her life helping her father run their shabby curiosity shop in London. She has had to become good at taking care of herself. Starting when her mother abandoned the family years ago. But when a dangerous betrayal leaves her injured and with no place to go, Camille must allow the stranger that saved her to help her get away.

Jonathan Gilchrist enjoyed being the village apothecary. But after the death of his older brother Jonathan become the heir of Kettering Hall. Although because of some poor decisions his father made Kettering Hall is in danger of being sold. The only hope his father has of saving the family from ruin is to sell the Bevoy. A uncut and unpolished ruby that is rumored to either bless or curse whoever has it. But before he could sell the ruby it was stolen from him. When all the clues lead to the Iverness Curiosity Shop the lives of everyone involved may change forever.

I was really excited about this book finally coming out. And I was not disappointed! It was another wonderful story by Sarah E. Ladd. The settings and descriptions were wonderfully written. And the characters were well done and felt very real. I also loved the mystery and the surprising twists along the way. There were some huge surprises that I never would had guessed were coming! Sarah E. Ladd is a very talented writer and I can not wait for her next book to come out!

I received this book free from the publisher, Thomas Nelson, through the BookLook Bloggers book review program. The opinions are my own.
