The Plain Choice by Sherry Gore is the real life story of Sherry's journey through life. She had a very hard childhood and young adult life. But somewhere along the way she made it out of the bad places she had gotten into. It's the story of  how Sherry found her faith and a place to belong, by living a plain life.

I love Amish books so I was excited to read a real life story of a lady who became Amish. But come to find out a lot of the book is about her life growing up. Which is important so you can understand why she made certain choices later in life. Even though I have never went through all the things Sherry Gore did I found it easy to connect with her in the beginning, and the book was hard to put down. But when it finally did get to the Amish part that I had been looking forward to I was really disappointed. I found it hard to see why she was doing certain things sometimes when it got to the Amish part. The feeling the book left me with was that she never really became completely Amish. And by the end of the book I was not quite sure if she was a Mennonite, Amish, or a mix of both.

I received this book free from the publisher, Zondervan, through the BookLook Bloggers book review program. The opinions are my own.
