While their Celtic band was on tour in Charleston Alanna's husband was killed by a car bomb. And shortly after that she was left facing another life changing problem. Because her father-in-law was threatening to take custody of the baby she carries. So when her band manager offers her a marriage of convenience to obtain U.S. citizenship, it seems like the perfect way to escape her father-in-law’s control. But when she arrives at the historical family home of her new husband she begins to find she may be in more danger than she thought. The old decaying mansion seems to hold secrets that some people would do almost anything to keep.

This is one of the best Colleen Coble books I have read yet! I love how she adds mystery to her stories. And I think she outdid herself on this one! The plot and story details were great. It was almost like really getting to see the old decaying mansion and the southern US for myself. The characters also felt very real, and it was interesting to see the unbelievable twists and turns that the story took! This book was hard to put down! I highly recommend this book for all Colleen Coble fans, and for anyone who loves a good story!
