After the death of Veronica's fiance’, Seth Lapp, she is heartbroken. While cleaning to help distracted herself she finds a bunch of forgotten recipes. Including a recipe for her Mammi’s raspberry pies. So Veronica decides to opens a bake stand to sell the wonderful pies.
Jason Huyard was friends with Seth, and was there when Seth died. A memory that haunts him for a long time. So he seeks out Seth's fiance’ to express his condolences. But when he meets Veronica his plans fall apart. And if he can not tell Veronica the truth about knowing Seth soon enough his secret could ruin everything.

I believe this was the first story I have read that is by Amy Clipston. It was a very good story, and the details and setting were great. The characters were also very well done. It was easy to see their struggles and to relate to them. And I really loved the parts when Veronica and her mother found old recipes and other items. But I think I would have enjoyed the story better if there had been more twists in the plot. Through most of the book it was pretty straight forward and there were not really any surprises. But as the story got closer to the end there were a few twists in it. And there were a couple of very interesting things that I think are setting up for future books in this series.

I received this book free from the publisher, Zondervan, through the BookLook Bloggers book review program. The opinions are my own.
